But I can post some of the more recent, including these I've done of our trip across the USA in June of this year (it's hard to remember what sunshine is like!) I cannot remember what paper etc I used on each page though. It's either new stuff, old stuff, stuff I got from ScrapYourTrip or stuff I bought in the (amazing!) scrapbook store in Palm Desert. So, here goes, in no particular order.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_ZgGcOY2BmQo/SL_lTOnRPVI/AAAAAAAAANA/yfmivOh9yPI/s320/floatingbliss.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5242160609785625938" />
It was just wonderful, floating around in the pool at our Palm Springs house rental. Actually, the assignment is all but finished (phew!) and the scrapbooking was needed to help me think! :)

This page is of hub and Nick at Lake Laggan, Scotland in 1996. The background paper (Fancy Pants 'Crush') did most of the work and I just titivated that with some flowers and gems. I hand cut the picture frame and punched all the holes (using Cropodile) - not very straight! The other papers (tartan and spotty) are A2Z It's Elementary, the letters are American Craft Thickers and the dragonfly rubon is from the recent Oriental kit from QVC (don't like oriental much, but the kit was a bargain and you can use it with most things).

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_ZgGcOY2BmQo/R88V362X_EI/AAAAAAAAAMY/6ldbXKR-KvI/s320/buds.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5174378547306298434" />
This page is of photos taken on our way to St Tropez in 2005, when we stopped at a deserted little cove. It was glorious - so much nicer than the crowded and commercialised town of St Trop itself. The feet are Paul's. I struggled to find paper to match, but finally used Scenic Route's Loveland papers. The letters are from American Crafts and Basic Grey - flowers are from my stash and the boat was bought from Bitz!

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_ZgGcOY2BmQo/R88Woq2X_FI/AAAAAAAAAMg/b5bdrHSry5M/s320/sttrop.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5174379384824921170" />
The next three pages, I did this evening, all together - like a kind of assembly line! The first one is of Nick with his hamster, Lizzie! He loved the little thing, even although she kept us up at nights with the noise she made whirling around on her blasted wheel! She also gave you a nasty nip if you weren't careful. He cried when she died and held her in his hand for ages, hoping she was just hibernating! The paper is from American Crafts Elegant range; letters are American Crafts Thickers and Basic Grey; turquoise felt is from Fancy Pants and other bits and bobs are Elsie and ModPops (I think). The hearts in the photo are windings I typed in before printing.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_ZgGcOY2BmQo/R88Xyq2X_GI/AAAAAAAAAMo/tpZ28GuT_VY/s320/lizzie.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5174380656135240802" />
Next, I scrapped Andorra. I just printed out a load of photos, 36 cm square to go around the bigger one in the middle. I think I printed them out too small, but never mind! The paper is Autumn Leaves French Twist and the letters are American Crafts. I hand cut the swirl, after tracing around a Maya Road chipboard swirl - and the foam ladybird is American Crafts FieldHouse. It's all a bit pink really.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_ZgGcOY2BmQo/R88Yu62X_HI/AAAAAAAAAMw/3tpGcJk9g7I/s320/andorra.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5174381691222359154" />

Finally, I scrapped one of my favourite photos. It was taken at a store, just outside of Zion National Park, on the road to Las Vegas, in 2004. (I bought a string of china chilli peppers in the shop!). I wanted to keep it quite simple, so that the picture did all the work. The paper is K&Co Mira, rubons from the Oriental QVC TSV and October Afternoon + velvet flowers from Maya Road and Fancy Pants felt.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_ZgGcOY2BmQo/R88ZgK2X_II/AAAAAAAAAM4/F18PCTPAS3o/s320/virgin.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5174382537330916482" />
All for now!

Mother's Day

It was Mother's Day yesterday, and Paul bought me a pack of Papermania paper as part of my present. I found a nice selection of them on the Craft Emporium. I only wanted a couple (just to look at!) - but as there's a minimum purchase of £7.50, I had to buy more than a couple. I justified this purchase by buying a 7Gypsies mini album, which I can do up for hub's birthday, coming up soon. So that's alright then! :)

Mira and Urban Rhapsody

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_ZgGcOY2BmQo/R8k_u5iMuUI/AAAAAAAAALg/Ort2PuRAf7c/s320/mira2.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5172735721962518850" /><img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_ZgGcOY2BmQo/R8lAwJiMuXI/AAAAAAAAAL4/67rtOrtZTxU/s320/urban.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5172736842948983154" />

Therapeutic addiction!

Well, I've been doing it for a year - so it's not a whim! I am an AVID addict!

The idea behind this blog is to have somewhere to put my scrapping links where I can find them easily - but I'd just as well chatter a bit too!

I started scrapbooking, completely by accident. I was looking for a birthday card for my youngest brother and tutting at the price! Then I had the great idea of making him one, so this meant a trip to the nearest craft shop (the Range), where I not only picked up some cardmaking materials, but also one of their Goodie Bags. Oh dear. I had seen scrapbooking shops in the USA, but, although curious, I had never entered one - so had no idea what the hobby entailed. The Goodie Bag filled me in. As did the numerous magazines I bought in the weeks following. I was instantly hooked! All those old photos in the loft, suddenly saw the light of day again - and the zillions of digital photos on the computer, stood to attention "print me, print me!" And I printed quite a few! It's not all about the scrapbooking, either - there is now more purpose in photography. I've been known to go somewhere with the sole intention of taking photos to scrap. (That can't be sane!) I've spent hundreds (probably an underestimate!) of pounds on inks and photographic papers and scrap papers and albums and embellies and - oh everything - but every penny has been worth it, as it's a wonderfully relaxing hobby. (I should perhaps mention that, although all this started out with the intention of making cards, I never really got into that. I find cardmaking stressful, as you are making something for somebody else and you want them to like it. Pressure!)

So, a year into scrapping. Am I supposed to have a 'style', because, if so, then I am a failure! I like to dabble with different styles. I don't like to make two pages the same. I don't think I ever have. My tastes in materials are varied - I love (most of all) Basic Grey stuff, because I love the distressed look to it - but I also love girlie, romantic papers, especially those from K&Co and Fancy Pants. I love Heidi Swapp and Elsie. I love flowers. And swirls. I love to doodle - and even sew! Letters are probably my biggest weakness; I see them and I buy them, because you can never have enough 'e's (I need a CraftRobo or a Wishblade - but I can't really justify the cost, even to myself!). I love Scrapbook Inspirations and the American Creating Keepsakes (and subscribe to both). I love looking at the papers - you could say I almost collect them! But I do not have a style. Is that important? No! I think the only really important thing about scrapbooking is that you are happy with the last page you created. That it portrays how you feel about that photograph. Scrapbooking is not about competition and about who can make the best pages - it's about life and love; family and holidays; good times, bad times; memories. And how you choose to keep those memories is personal to you. That's the joy!

(Oh, maybe I should confess that I'm a bit of a pusher of this addiction. Fi Archer, Lesley Puls, to name but two. And my daughter-in-law, Nicola ... I'm not sure how my son feels about that! :))

Here are a selection of some of my most recent pages - made over the last few weeks.

Paul in Lisbon! (It's the photo which really makes this page!)

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_ZgGcOY2BmQo/R8h6T5iMuJI/AAAAAAAAAKI/P-VygtYwAww/s320/cake.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5172518654315378834" />

Hub and I on the Moors.
